COMMUNITY CENTER REITH BEI SEEFELD

Reith b. Seefeld |Österrech

3rd prize in the architectural competition | Architecturally, this design borrows from the familiar. The region is characterised by its mountains and forests. It is therefore obvious to transfer exactly these silhouettes, colours and surfaces to a new building - interpreted in a modern way. The entire new building is planned in timber construction from the FBOK ground floor. The façade, but also the interior, will reflect precisely this construction method in its surfaces. The roof, also referred to as the "fifth" façade, will have a sheet metal cladding in a warm brown tone. The existing Mauracher building is now completely renovated and freed from the desolate stable, standing on its own and independent at the new community square. The new building with its almost identical floor space and its high hall does not take anything away from the old building. On the contrary, with its differently inclined roof forms, the event building fits into the existing gap with a certain lightness. In this design, the administrative (existing) and event areas (new building) are clearly separated from each other structurally. However, the individual functional areas of the two buildings have the possibility to "communicate" with each other at any time through the location of a new, versatile community square.
